i left this thread hanging for a few days bc i got to the leper scene at neibolt, but uh basically what you need to know is that it's similar to how it plays out in the first film but has an Extremely heavy overtone of sexual aggression

it's not the same but i think this is why the leper scene in the second movie was... the way that it was

there are whole essays that could be written on this chapter honestly

eddie develops a weird fixation on his encounter with the hobo leper. later in this chapter he starts imagining himself As the hobo leper

as i said it was toned down like 80% in the movie, which mostly focuses on the leper being Diseased and Gross, but the sexual angle gets a Lot of focus in the book. it's obviously uncomfortable so i'm picking and choosing what i put here but yeah

combined with richie telling eddie about STIs and bill helpfully chiming in that you can also get them from guys "if you're queer" it's really beginning to paint a picture of eddie's Problems but anyway i'm trying to move past this so we can get back to cute stuff
