ABO is not fucking transphobic. Yall are just ppl WITHOUT specific kinks, getting squicked BY stories w/ those kinks. That& #39;s fine. Just stop pretending it& #39;s some ethics issue.
It really ain& #39;t.

Incoming: a long rant by a kinky trans person.
CW for discussions of sex.
Here& #39;s what the AU requires:
- people divided into (min) 2 categories that are called Alpha and Omega
- Alphas are /stereotypically/ aggressive
- Omegas are /stereotypically/ passive
- Some type of feral or instinctive behaviors
- As & Os perceived as ideal partners
Here& #39;s what& #39;s common, but not inherent to the AU:
- the existence of Betas
- scenting, glands
- male Os capable of pregnancy
- m Os producing lubricant
- claiming/biting/bonds/mates
- heats/ruts
- m Os having vaginas & f As having dicks
- Alpha commands & general power gaps
Authors can break even the inherent tropes. Mbh A/O is the worst match bc they& #39;re too intense together? Mby stereotypes are false? Mby modern ppl don& #39;t succumb to instinct at all?
I& #39;ve read all of these b4.

Ntm how flexible & varied all the /optional/ tropes can be!
If you don& #39;t like some of these tropes, you will probably find fic without it.

But the reason they& #39;re so popular at all is bc ABO is fundamentally appealing to ppl sitting in a specific intersection of common kinks, and those ppl create the content they wanna see.
Dom/sub power dynamics, primal instincts, mpreg, hyper-feminization, unusual genitalia - those are all known kinks. ABO is for ppl who like them, which includes a LOT of trans people btw. To claim ABO is transphobic is to erase the voices and perspectives of kinky trans ppl.
"But it& #39;s so fetishy!" good fucking observation skills, it& #39;s a kink AU.

And tbh if someone wants to deal w/ their negative experiences, like discrimination or dysphoria, by sexualizing them - who ARE you and why do you think you have the right to judge that?
And don& #39;t start that "just write trans au" shit with me. Not all trans ppl WANT to read about trans characters, firstly - many of us are here for escapism.

Secondly, trans ppl and pseudo-werewolves with magic noses and strawberry-flavoured lube are not fuckin interchangeable!
3rdly, there are no omegas irl who can be misrepresented. There is no anti-omega bigotry. You can& #39;t accidentally harm a group that doesn& #39;t exist.

Trans ppl are real, we& #39;re affected by misconceptions, & also personally I& #39;d rather we weren& #39;t used as a half-assed SUBSTITUTE.
In conclusion, most of yalls problems w/ ABO aren& #39;t even inherent /to/ the AU, they& #39;re specific kinks that are just being explored /within/ ABO.

Your Kink Is Not My Kink And That& #39;s Okay.

Repeat it til it sticks.
And stop being so fucking moralistic abt kinks, of all things!
Adding on the day after:
Any1 noticed that 99% of the ppl saying A/B/O is "widely known" to be transphobic are teen kpop stans?

These ppl are from one tiny corner of one single fandom, & too young to legally even read it.

Stop letting social media gossip from kids define kinks.
Hi hi back to clarify. I& #39;m not saying you can& #39;t criticize any A/B/O fic, I& #39;m ONLY saying that it& #39;s not the AU& #39;s fault if an author is tphobic.
& take care not to confuse ppl playing with their own experiences for it. Can be harder to tell than you& #39;d think! https://twitter.com/teateateahoney/status/1222791468374536192?s=19">https://twitter.com/teateatea...
