Was in a train on Saturday close to two families with children. All four children were, primary school age, had colds and all were coughing like old smokers. None covered their mouths or used tissues or hankies at all. The four parents gossiped on like nothing was happening...

...I have an itchy throat now, just starting to get a little chesty. It's a cold. Incubation period would be bang on right for Saturday, that train ride. I was probably the eighth closest person to those kids on the carriage...

...so it's very, very likely those parents allowed (by not teaching their kids basic responsibility) that virus to spread to at least 8, probably far more than that, just on the train from Ely to Cambridge. But it gets worse...

...they were all going to Yo Sushi for one of the parents birthdays. The kids would have been sharing their viruses with everyone where they were eating - a superb opportunity to make people sick. Then there was talk of elsewhere for cake, and the train home...

...now I'm likely to be ill or at least off colour for days, as will -dozens- more people. All because four parents were fucking irresponsible. I don't know whether there's anything more I could have done to prevent this - but I find myself thoroughly disgusted by their behaviour

...if the virus from Wuhan spreads in the UK we'll probably suffer a similar percentage fatality rate to China. And the people who will spread it at selfish bastards who don't have the good manners even to cough into their sleeves. People who are beyond uncouth and into evil.
