The silent corridors that once echoed with sweet whispers of their love, remind him of their situation- #Kaira wish to chase each other thru these halls again, giggling & teasing like before, but can't.
Without her, life is as silent & empty as the halls he walks through.

He finds himself standing across from her in that same corridor & suddenly every thought vanishes from his mind. Time stops & he's frozen in place - there's so much he wants to say yet he's unsure how or where to start.

And he finds his hesitation mirrored in her.

A glimmer of hope grows in his heart as she begins to run in his direction, just like 1000 times before.
As always, he raises his arms in eager anticipation, waiting to wrap them around her & hold her close to his aching heart, only to watch her run right past him.

His arms slowly fall back by his side as the look of despair on her face comes as a reminder that these dreams may be too risky to dream.
Yet, the dreamer in him refuses to give up. As determination shines thru his eyes, the beginnings of a smile light up his face.

When you can sense each other's presence from a mile apart, you don't need eyes to see the love of your life approaching from behind you.

Naira senses him near even before she sees him. She's getting butterflies in her belly yet is simultaneously torn up by guilt.

She loves him dearly & if things were different, she would've run into his waiting arms. But there's also overpowering guilt for the 3rd person involved, as #Kaira reuniting would be unfair to her.

So if protecting her means tearing her own heart to shreds, she'll do it.

But his determination is not something to be challenged- even by her.

He sidles up beside her,knowing that she holds other's feelings above her own but what's at stake is more precious- their love.And he'll stop at nothing to protect the bond closest to his heart.

The proximity is overwhelming, causing her heart to race like she's run a marathon. He still has the same hold on her yet she can't let anything more happen.
She's already slipped up once when she confessed her feelings - she can't afford to make any more mistakes.

She knows he won't stop & that he's aware of how his presence makes her weak in the knees. And she's sure he'll use this weakness against her.

So she does something she vowed to herself to never do again- she runs away from him to calm her conflicted heart & mind.

Praying has always given her a sense of peace & direction. Now when she's feeling directionless & her heart's in a state of turmoil, she prays to God for a sign.

And immediately, God gives her 1- he's standing in front of her, all distance between them eliminated.

Every time he sees her, he's no longer unsure of what she feels for him.Every time she sees him, she sees the intensity of his love & worries about the extents he'll go to reunite them.

Hope & perseverance vs fear & avoidance- history seems to be repeating itself.

So what's new?
Nothing. And everything.

The equations have changed, their situation is precarious, the path forward is treacherously risky.
He knows that their love is worth the fight.She agrees but is also afraid of all the casualties it'll cause if they reunite.

In the tug of war between her heart & mind, her mind finally wins. She starts to leave only to feel a familiar touch pulling her back - a firm grip of love keeping her rooted to her spot, not allowing her to succeed in her endeavour to put distance between them.

A simple pull & she's face to face with him again.
Her struggle to get out of his grasp makes him smile - he understands her fear yet knows that her attempts to escape are half-hearted cuz her heart belongs to him- always has & always will.
And that's all he needs.

Staring deep into each other's soul, they find every emotion they're experiencing reflected in the other's eyes- regret, desperation, pain, longingness & above all LOVE.

When their hearts feel the same, why aren't they back in each other's arms? Cuz it isn't easy.

But nothing worth fighting for was ever easy & he's determind to prove to her that their love deserves a fighting chance.

Now every struggle she makes to pull away from him, strengthens his resolve to make her the sole permanent destination in his life forever.

Steeling her heart for what she must do, she finally jerks her hand out of his strong grip, running away from the place where she's come to believe that their dreams will never come true.

But she's underestimating her Mendak's determination to make them 1 again.

He turns to Krishnaji, his guide & best friend, seeking the strength to pursue the path that may have the most winding uphill road but leads to the most beautiful place - where he & his Sherni are no longer separated by the laws that govern society.
