Just realized that people punish children for a lot of actions that have ZERO consequences in actual life.

Child: breaks a plate (accidentally, duh)
Parent: *slaps them halfway across the room*

Adult: *breaks a plate*
Adult: ah shit where is the broom.

Same goes for spilling, staining their clothes, loosing money etc. These are all things that happen in adulthood that no one is punished for. So why are you beating the tiny human? What lesson are you teaching? Don’t do it again? Don’t do what? Make mistakes? Because newsflash...
