1. A thread on #8YearsOfAgneepath
It can be tricky to make a remake of a cult movie - even though it wasn't successful. In fact, the original Agneepath directed by Mukul Anand and produced by the late Yash Johar failed massively at the BO.
2. The characters need to be modern, the plot needs to be fresh and Vijay's character be written in such a way that it doesn't look like mimicking Amitabh Bachchan.
3. Removing Mithun Chakraborty's character of Krishnan Iyer was another risk that could backfire and adding a completely new character of Rauf Lala was an even bigger risk.
3. But @karanmalhotra21 was determined to make this happen. And thank God for the masterpiece! The subtlety and restraint of @iHrithik as Vijay is simply brilliant. He nails the intensity and remains the underdog till the end. The expressive eyes are a welcome bonus!
4. @duttsanjay was the perfect choice for the evil, ruthless Kancha (raw, unrefined, unlike the earlier portrayal by Danny Denzongpa). @chintskap Sir just surprised everyone with Rauf Lala! He was the lustful, conniving, drug lord that gives everyone nightmares!
5. Two huge villains, one hero, going in the dirty, criminal system to avenge his father's death and to redeem the dishonor to his family. A kaleidoscope of emotions - love, friendship, a bond between a brother and sister, how relationships start but don't end, revenge, greed.
6. All of which are showcased so wonderfully. The action is raw, real and muscular. The 2012 #Agneepath should be a lesson on how to remake a film and make it more successful than the original.
7. #HrithikRoshan's craft as an actor made people forget #AmitabhBachchan's Vijay. @AjayAtulOnline - their music and background score is out of this world. All compositions original, and perfectly fit in the screenplay.
8. While Deva Shree Ganesha makes you want to dance in revelry, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin gives goosebumps.

Everything about Agneepath is so outstanding that words are not enough. Perfect ode to the 70s cinema blended with modern sensibilities. #8YearsOfAgneepath
9. Favourite scenes:
- when Vijay's mom asks him to get out, he serves food in his plate and eats outside. Then says this is the love that he hasn't seen for 15 years
10.
- 'Kancha se seedhe milne ke liye na mujhe Rauf Lala ki zaroorat hai, aur ab, na teri'
11.
- When he has exacted revenge and cries out his father's name for one last time and then dies on his mother's lap with a smile.
12. And that wraps up the exhilarating experience of watching this masterpiece - thank you @karanjohar @iHrithik @priyankachopra @karanmalhotra21 @AjayAtulOnline @DharmaMovies
