As a chilean I consider that I should teach everyone about one of the most classic meals here: The completo.

2/? The completo is basically a hot dog, but with more ingredients than what you could see in other countries. It's a street food and fast food, you can find easily places to buy them almost everywhere. If you're visiting us, ask for a "Fuente de soda".
3/? Here in Chile we have several variants, but the most common one is the "Completo italiano", with that name due to how the colors resemble Italy's flag. A completo italiano has sausage, tomato, avocado and mayonaise. You can also add mustard, ketchup and chili afterwards.
4/? We have other variants too. The "Completo Americano" basically adds a mix of sauerkraut and carrot and so, and the "Completo a lo pobre" has fried onion, french fries and a fried or scrambled eggs on top. Yes, it's as messy as it sounds.
5/? Completos are important for every chilean. If you're chilean and don't like completos (not counting health reasons) i can only say you're a conchesumadre culiao traidor a la patria mĂĄtate. Its also normal that people from other places try our completos and fall in love.
6/? So, the next time you come to Chile, please do yourself a favor and get a Completo Italiano. If you cant, find any chilean friend near you and force them to make you a completo italiano. If they dont want, simply tell them they're a "conchetumare".

8/? Oh yes, a last last thing. If you come here and see the option... DO NOT BUY completos at any gas station. All the ingredients there are artificial, the avocado is a paste and they in general taste between mediocre and bad. Believe me on this.
