The polling of the Democratic Primary shows that voters are suffering from a collective cognitive dissonance that is preventing a large number of them from voting for the candidate the actually like the most, trust the most, and agree with the most on the issues.

Thread 👇
The two common threads through all of the polling data:

1) People really like Bernie.

2) People are really worried that other people really don't like Bernie.

When the media reports data on perceptions around "electability" or "unity," remember this reflects #2 only, not #1
First off, it's undeniable who Democrats are with on the issues that effect their lives

Per new @CNN national poll of Dem Primary voters

% Support among Dem Voters who are voting on issues instead of "electability"

Sanders 36%
Warren 16%
Biden 15%

However, they do seem worried that he can't "unite" the party.

From same @CNN poll-
Who has the best chance of "uniting" the Democratic Party?

Joe Biden 41%
Bernie Sanders 16%
Elizabeth Warren 13%

So Dems think that other Dems would be dissatisfied with him as the nominee.
How is it possible for these two sets of numbers to come out of the same poll?

The best explanation is folks consuming political media more than they talk politics with each other

Your neighbor likes Bernie Sanders, but the rich person on TV says your neighbor doesn't like him
The same dynamic plays out with the electability question.

While Sanders has a 21% lead over Biden with people voting on the issues that effect their lives, but then there's this:

Again, is this rooted in reality, or media manufactured perception?
This is why it's so important we talk to each other and share information to counter the lies of the corporate media.

If everyone votes for the candidate they think everyone else likes the most instead of the candidate they actually like the most, then democracy is dead.
