Sanders wanted to run all the way to convention from the beginning and understood that accumulating more delegates meant having more leverage to gain concessions on platform and superdelegate reforms. https://twitter.com/daveweigel/status/1219606954508783622
The Sanders campaign never developed a superdelegate strategy so their messaging was all over the place. They never expected to win so many pledged delegates that superdelegates would even matter. https://mobile.twitter.com/daveweigel/status/1219607537814769664
90% of what the Sanders campaign did in 2016 was improvised. There was no strategy beyond the man and the message and that was good enough until Super Tuesday when it became clear not enough new/young voters were participating to offset Clinton's strength with Black/older voters.
The above is what makes the Sanders 2020 campaign such an abysmal failure. Not his first rodeo; tons of cash; yet still no discernible strategy and no real gains in the polls after nearly a year (below in blue)! 🤦‍♂️

The biggest subjective difference between the 2016 and 2020 Sanders campaigns is the utter lack of professionalism this time around. Tad Devine (who has a lot of presidential campaign experience) is gone, replaced by rookies like Faiz Shakir, Briahna Gray, and David Sirota.
In the past 2 weeks, the amateurs running the Sanders campaign attacked Warren voters for being "PMC" (she counterpunched by exposing their private chat), painted Biden as a segregationist, and botched #BidenSocialSecurityCuts so badly Sanders apologized. Bernieworld = in chaos.
Delusional Bernie cultism has grown in proportion to the campaign's failure to gain traction w/ working-class (esp. POC) voters. An "organizer in chief" leading a mass movement would never use people living in the projects as props.

Don't have proof but strongly suspect David Sirota laundered the Biden attack through Zephyr Teachout because she historically has not attacked candidates personally for being corrupt but corruption in general, systemically. https://www.theguardian.com/profile/zephyr-teachout
Compare Zephyr Teachout vs. Biden to Zephyr Teachout vs. Cuomo, whom she ran against. "Cuomo must act against corruption" is pretty soft and indirect compared to "Biden is dirty/voters will think he's dirty."

The idiotic, ham-fisted critique of U.S. politics is "so-and-so is bribed!" Literal bribery (aside from Trump!!!!!) in U.S. politics is not that common. The sophisticated critique is if politicians spend most of their time dialing for dollars, they neglect engaging constituents.
Because a lot of the brogressive grifter industrial complex doesn't have the intellectual bandwidth for anything sophisticated, you get David Sirota-style attacks like this that are not even remotely plausible: https://twitter.com/cenkuygur/status/1215075715697254402
If you really think @ChristyforCA25's opposition to M4A was purchased for $1,500, then get the pro-Bernie CA National Nurses United to max out a donation to purchase a flip-flop so we can win M4A. They're not broke. https://www.wsj.com/articles/bernie-sanders-a-front-runner-with-financing-to-prove-it-struggles-to-retain-outsider-status-11557759378
One of the big reasons why AOC beat Joe Crowley wasn't because he was literally owned by lobbyists, but he skipped debates which really pissed off people who lived in his district meanwhile he had a yooj campaign chest. https://www.cityandstateny.com/articles/politics/news-politics/joe-crowley-sends-annabel-palma-to-debate-in-his-place

The proper #BidenSocialSecurityCuts critique/attack is: he has a long record of putting the program on the chopping block in talks with Republicans. It's not a red line, he's willing to go there.

Can you, older voters, trust him with McConnell?
https://prospect.org/politics/biden-advocacy-for-social-security-trims-has-had-real-cons/
But for #BidenSocialSecurityCuts to be effective as a line of attack, it's got to come from the top of the ticket and you can't have different parts of the campaign constantly saying different things. Message discipline is campaigning 101 and David Sirota and co. failed.
The other reason #BidenSocialSecurityCuts is probably not going to make any headway with voters in Iowa or elsewhere is that it's just too late in the game to open up this issue and inform voters about it. Shoulda started six months ago. Again, another fail by David Sirota.
We had 7 #DemDebates and I can't remember #JoeBidenSocialSecurityCuts being mentioned once but I do remember hearing about almost 20-year old Iraq war votes coupled with nothing about Biden's awful Iraq positions post-2003 (he called for partition FFS). https://twitter.com/pplswar/status/1218022330443665408
The #1 problem facing the Bernie Sanders campaign is the Bernie Sanders campaign. The campaign's Joe Rogan endorsement and the entirely predictable, deserved blowback completely derailed #BidenSocialSecurityCuts. 🤦‍♂️ https://mobile.twitter.com/MoveOn/status/1221125550309285888
When you absolutely suck at driving a message. (There's no changing the Joe Rogan endorsement into a Social Security or M4A conversation. 🤦‍♂️)
Maybe the Sanders campaign's model is Burlington College?

Jane is pushing a video by the guy who got hired and fired within 24 hours for his "I Have A Wet Dream" MLK video... which is still online. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Imagine what Trump will say in the general. https://mobile.twitter.com/RoKhanna/status/1222363440011980803
Will Rogan's endorsement of Trump be tweeted out from the @BernieSanders account or will the team of brain dead podcast junkies running his campaign pretend this never happened? 🤔
https://mobile.twitter.com/TopherSpiro/status/1223642260505612290
Good thing Sanders didn't hire any divisive #DemExit loons to run his second presidential campaign because that would make credibly responding to Clinton's criticism really difficult!

🤦‍♂️

Opportunists, grifters, and assholes always jump on successful bandwagons; the problem is that nobody in Bernieworld understands why it's necessary for the success of the mission to throw them off their bandwagon.

When you step in an enormous pile of dogshit but nobody on your team tells you because you hired only slightly less enormous piles of dogshit as your top staff and so they've become immune to the rotting stench.

A smart, disciplined Sanders campaign would ignore Bloomberg's trollbait to focus fire on Biden using issues that resonate with voters like #BidenCutsSocialSecurity, but instead we get self-absorbed #NotUsMe ragetweets. 🤦‍♂️🤡
Just imagine what will happen if Trump starts tweeting stuff like this directly @davidsirota and how the GOP attack machine will keep the campaign on the defensive and off-message, reacting wildly to each provocation. #FireSirota
Briahna Joy Gray being extremely online and tweeting multiple corrections of herself after TV appearances doesn't count?
More evidence the Sanders campaign didn't vet any of their top hires:

Trump is really scared of healing crystals. Everybody's talking about it. 49-state landslide guaranteed now.
Ben Mora, regional field director for the Sanders campaign in Michigan. Do something already @fshakir! All the Bernie bros must go! https://www.thedailybeast.com/bernie-sanders-staffer-mocked-elizabeth-warrens-looks-pete-buttigiegs-sexuality-on-private-twitter-account
Ben Mora, working-class and seemingly intersectional campaigner by day, right-wing shitposter by night (probably corrupted by Chapo Trump House and co). Real Strasserite, NazBol stuff here.

Jeremy Corbyn spent years defensively condemning anti-Semitism emanating from his supporters while his henchmen interfered with and rigged investigations into Labour Party anti-Semitism. In the end, the buck stops with Bernie. https://mobile.twitter.com/pplswar/status/1231981613770268672
Called it. 👇 https://mobile.twitter.com/pplswar/status/1232132351041384449
Visionary pragmatist Bernie Sanders > bitter, divisive, conspiratorial Bernie Sanders. It's the difference between @taddevine and @davidsirota I suppose.

Now we're emphasizing pragmatism after a year of campaigning? 🤦‍♂️ #TooLittleTooLate https://mobile.twitter.com/ccadelago/status/1235207816899465216
So stupid it hurts. 😆
You'd think Bernie Sanders' family being murdered by the Nazis would prevent Briahna Joy Gray from trivializing genocide but nope.
Boy I wonder who in the top echelon of the Sanders campaign would anonymously shit talk Faiz Shakir, Jeff Weaver, and the old man himself? 🤔🤔🤔

How Bernie Sanders blew it:

✅Zero effort to win Black/older voters
✅Putting Nina Turner in charge of SC
✅Hiring bullshit pollsters like Ben Tulchin
✅Hiring attack dog David Sirota and then punishing Sirota for attacking Biden
✅Pissing off allies

. @davidsirota lies again. Glad Bernie Sanders put him on time out but it's not good enough! #NoMiddleGround #FireSirota
Musical guests during a pandemic? Were there no medical experts available? 🤡🤦‍♂️ https://mobile.twitter.com/BernieSanders/status/1241826798767349766
The Sanders campaign and the cult masquerading as a "mass movement" were never interested in a popular or progressive front. They planned to bully the Democratic convention using their 35% delegate plurality as a cudgel. No allies, just #BernieOrBust. https://mobile.twitter.com/DavidAstinWalsh/status/1246068503192440832
