A thread of manga I have read this week:

Bought just because it’s weird, but was a pretty funny read. Boy’s mom suddenly tells him she’s remarried, his new stepdad is a unicorn, and she’s going on a long business trip. It’s extremely wholesome.

I thought this was isekai at first glance but it’s just the new “actual fantasy with a self-aware twist” trend that’s followed up the big isekai boom. Basically, just a normal fantasy world except YouTube exists. It’s got a lot of really deadpan humor. I’ll keep buying it.

This manga is wild. I love horror manga. To be honest, I looked up how the series ends on Wikipedia because I didn’t think I could keep reading it if it didn’t have at least a vaguely hopeful ending

This manga continues to be gorgeous beyond belief. The supernatural stuff in it is starting to ramp up but it’s still just the everyday interactions between the characters that I’m really here for

Extremely dumb isekai where a girl ends up in a magical world and hosts a version of Comiket for magic users so she can try to find a spell that will send her home. It’s cute and it’s got good gags

Akiko Higashimura is so good. I love the way she interspaces her memories with her current reflections on them so much.

I read The Golden Sheep earlier this year and loved it so I needed to read some more Kaori Ozaki. This is really good, also made me cry.

Technically a reread... I just got the final vol so I decided to read it from the beginning. A fun Jump series imo although if it ended in five vols maybe it won’t stay good. All that matters to me is that there’s a black cat in it

I forgot to post any of them but I read Black Torch 2, 3, and 4!! I still like it although I think the first volume was the best.

When this was going around on Twitter I would constantly cry at it so naturally I cried almost the whole time I was reading it in book form. I love Fukumaru

I honestly don’t know why I picked this up but I enjoyed it. I’m tired of titles like this though (it doesn’t even make sense in the context of the story. Also the elf lady on the cover is on exactly three pages and I don’t know why she’s on the cover... but it is an adaptation)

And finally a new volume of Nozaki-kun! Very sibling heavy volume. I always laugh out loud when I read these. Incidentally I keep thinking the spray cans on the cover are pills

A little sad this only turned out to be two volumes long!

Got the last volume of Golden Sheep! Cried a lot while I read it, but the included short story at the end was what really set me bawling. This was a good, short series and I highly recommend it

Where’s my all-Izutsumi spinoff? I don’t usually post any interiors but her expressions over this sequence of panels was so good

And obviously I also read this. I guess it still technically ends in a cliffhanger but I’m much less stressed about it. Some interesting revelations in this volume!

The classic cat manga. I guess DH is rereleasing this, which is exciting! I’ve never read it. It’s really funny! This collection includes volumes 1-6 but I still read the whole thing in one sitting because it was so delightful

I keep forgetting to update this thread, although I haven’t read a ton of manga... I did reread all of Berserk, though, for some reason. Anyway, resuming this thread!

Every volume of this makes me laugh out loud. The chapter with the yakuza guys at the cafe was killing me!!!
