it always tickles me to see law enforcement engage uncomfortably with internet slang and culture in legal documents
i'm glad this affidavit started with a good laugh because i was in tears by the end. it described a detailed plan by members of the base to murder antifascists in georgia.

the threat is real. these online edgelords are planning violence in real life.
this is one of TWO murder plots by members of the base that have come to light this week. maryland based members were planning to use a machine gun to murder people at a rally in richmond on monday but somehow this is even more unsettling to me.
these members of the base planned for months to enter the home of a couple they believed to be associated with an atlanta antifascist group, murder them, then burn their house down. they saw it as a good practice run for future plans to murder local reporters.
they visited the home of their intended victims twice. they had chosen a date. they agreed on weapons and outfits and tactics to reduce the amount of their own DNA that would be left at the scene.
the co-conspirators differed in their beliefs about whether any children present should also be shot.
[cw: antisemitic slur in image text]
they weren't going after someone who had come after them or their group in any way. they selected these victims specifically BECAUSE they had no connection to the base. they were going to kill these people simply for having the belief that fascism is worth fighting.
this isn't opposing sides meeting in the streets and violence erupting. this is a terrorist organization conspiring to murder their political enemies in their beds.
