because to be really fucking honest? art is TIRING. all forms, in every way. dancing? singing? acting? writing? drawing? etc.... it consumes your whole damn heart and mind and soul, and it's not something you can switch off like a day job. you carry it with you like a second skin
the fact that bts addresses this makes them all the more human and even more admirable. i respect their work so much.
and many people take these works SO lightly, because they don't understand what it's like to pluck a piece of your soul and lay it out bare for the world to see.

they see a performer onstage. they see cool costumes. they see doodles. they hear songs.

but that's your heart there
and YET that's not the point of black swan. my main takeaway from the song's message is: it's okay to be tired. it's okay for the passion to flicker low, as long as it doesn't flicker out.
black swan is a tribute to all artists out there and that's that
do u know why many artists get so butthurt over the smallest criticism?

because often it’s not just their work you’re nitpicking, it’s what their work represents—the essence of their soul

i know artists are trained to be open to constructive criticism but we feel so very deeply
i have nothing to promote except my analysis of Black Swan’s dance routine and also STREAMING PARTY LEGGOOOOO https://twitter.com/yoonderelia/status/1218150114176290823?s=21
OH um also i have a ko-fi 🥺 please, consider supporting a struggling college writer ~ and have a great weekend everyone 🙏🏻✨ https://www.ko-fi.com/kyrifics
