For my 20 something year old followers, stop stressing about your love life. Forgive your parents. Wait to have children. Finish your education. Love yourself the way you’ve been loving those deadbeat ass connections. Learn to live in gratitude and watch your life change.
For those of you who are triggered by the IDEA of forgiving your parents, let me remind you that your parents are human. If they're part of Generation X, understand that we were raised on survival, by parents two generations prior. Drugs, drug dealers, gang bangers,
Fraternities, sororities, college kids, blue collar worker, homemaker, fast food work. Those were the options. They were All raised by a generation that lived during a time of segregation - that has a whole other dynamic. Point is, they are regular PEOPLE.
I digress (I'm high) lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway, I'm not saying to kiss and make up. I'm not even say have or maintain a relationship. I said FORGIVE THEM. Forgive them FOR YOU, not for THEM.
I was dragging around pain and anger for 40 years! BITCH!! FORTY YEARS!!! I forgave my father on May 10, 2018. And he died 7 days later. I felt absolutely nothing about it either way because my conscience was clear and I had spoken my truth.
The weight from my shoulders had lifted when I realized that he was incapable of being the parent that I needed. I couldn't be mad at that. Shit happens. Life happens. I'm sorry if your parents were incapable of loving you the way you deserved.
Whether you have spoken your truth or not, once THAT is done, forgiveness comes as you heal and allow yourself release the pain. The only way to replace those feelings with BETTER feelings, is to release the ones you don't need! And you don't need those! 😝
Love that inner child the way you needed it. We are just regular people tryin to figure it out the best way we can. I'm sorry if your parents were shitty. Most parents are on SOME level 🤷🏻‍♀️
