I’m taking a mental health day from work today, so I can do my zen/exercise thing, a parkeology. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is, feel free to go down the rabbit hole below. For the rest of you, collectively roll your eyes and bear with me as I get back on my bullshit. https://twitter.com/tai_nugget/status/1142550169776353280
For the extreme few of you who actually enjoy these escapades, I tweet for thee.
Here’s the plan, along with the bonus challenges: No Extra Magic Hour, no FastPasses, and even no Single Rider! Standby only and in the tightest time window I’ve ever attempted! 9am-9pm
As you can see by my times I’m not expecting to get all 48 open rides today, since time will be the true enemy here. I do hope to get close to 40, but these are some very optimistic times, like pretty much nothing can break down.
Whomst is ready to get on the road and start some nonsense? I’mst is ready.
Kind of mad I have to pee already.
Gates.
I might break and do SR if it looks like I might actually get them all. Particularly with Matterhorn. I cannot stand the idea of waiting for it. We’ll see.
If I was allowing SR, Radiator wouldn’t be my rope ride, I’d just SR that some time in the first couple hours.
I’ve broken up the 12 meager hours I have roughly as: 9 to 11 DCA marquee rides, 11-3 DL, 3-5 DCA cleanup, 5-9 remainder of DL. I was tracking a low capacity day yesterday and wasn’t able to get through the list, so probably won’t today either.
Closed in DCA: Red Car Trolley. Closed at DL: Canoes, Mark Twain, Small World, Snow White. Rise of the Resistence opens tomorrow.
It looks like the rain won’t hit, which is too bad because it really clears the parks out.
Peter Pan already has a 40 minute wait during Extra Magic Hour. That thing is so ridiculous.
Going to be nice to not be on my phone constantly figuring out my FastPass strategy. Instead I’ll just be on my phone tweeting more.
First to rope. Will it translate to first to Radiator? We shall see.
DCA has experimented with early rope drop before, I’m hoping they’re still doing that.
They are not still doing that.
Actually just did. They are walking us slowly down the Radiator queue.
Ride 1/48: Radiator Springs Racers at 9:06am. First car!
Ride 2/48 Toy Story Midway Mania at 9:22am.
Yoda didn’t even score a point. Loser.
Ride 3/48: Guardians of the Galaxy Doing Shit at 9:49am
Ride 4/48: Monsters Inc: Mike & Sully Do Some Shit at 9:58am
Really cannot stand Soarin’s slow loading.
Ride 5/48: Soarin’ Over Some Shit at 10:15am
Ride 6/48: Inside Out: Emotional Shit at 10:34am
Ride 7/48: Golden Zephyr at 10:40am. The bane of my existence normally. Today operational and a walk-on.
Ride 8/48: Goofy’s Sky School at 10:52am
11am Update: Time to head over to DL for 4 hours, just need to squeeze in Incredicoaster first. An unexpected 10 minute wait for Goofy put me behind, but if I can board Incredi in the next 5 minutes, I’ll be close to the ideal pace.
Ride 9/48: Incredicoaster at 11:07am
Ride 10/48: Main Street Vehicles at 11:23am. Nothing was waiting at the Main Street hub, so I had to walk all the way down to the castle hub to find one. Blech. Getting more steps in than I need.
Time to actually wait for stuff, I guess.
How do people even do this, wait in line I mean. Don’t they get bored?
Ride 11/48: Peter Pan’s Flight at 11:53am
Ride 12/48: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 12:06pm. I’m a quarter of the way through the rides. Also a quarter of the way through the day 😱
Ride 13/48: Rafts to Pirate’s Shit on Tom Sawyer Island at 12:16. Switching things up a tiny bit because Indy’s wait time spiked.
Hopefully the new posted time scares people away from Indy and it gets back to 20 again. Would be nice.
Standby queue for Indy is almost to the temple, that bodes well. Ends up being almost the same as a FP wait. Thunder, by the way, was a near walk on. Standby and FP were the same wait.
Ride 14/48: Indiana Jones Adventure at 12:39pm
Sorry for the blurry picture, it’s hectic down there.
Ride 15/48: Finding Nemo Submarine Shit at 1:04pm
Ride 16/48: Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at 1:26pm
Leg pain update: Not terrible yet.
Ride 17/48: Star Tours: The Shit Continues at 1:44pm
Posted 30 minutes for Space and looks it. Still, if I can get back to DCA by 3:30, I’ll be ahead of the ideal schedule. Just have to clear 8 more over there, but they’re all low waits with the exception of Pal a Round.
My pace is good but the after work APs start showing up around 5pm or so. Fortunately, I’ve already ridden most of their faves.
Far longer than 30 min. Could be as much as 50. Hit this thing up at the exact wrong time. 🙁
Ok, indoors now. Back on track, but still over 30.
Ride 18: Space Mountain at 2:32pm
In line for Autopia. Really don’t like my pace right now. Got Space at the wrong time, and this Autopia queue seems longer than the posted 20 (which is bad enough). I’m swapping the train for monorail, then I’ll just take the train when I get back from DCA.
Ride 19: Autopia at 3:04pm
Ride 20: Monorail (DL to Downtown) at 3:18pm
Time to clean up DCA and hopefully gain some time back! Who’s ready?!
Ride 21: Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadkills at 3:38pm
Ride 22: Mater’s Junk in the Trunk at 3:46pm
Ride 23: Jessie’s Critter Carousel at 3:56pm
Ride 24: Pixar Pal-A-Round at 4:19pm. Shorter line than expected, which helps. At halfway point for rides, but still behind. 40 rides looks doubtful, especially since there’s still Mansion and Falcon. We’ll see if I can get back across by 5:15?😬
