I’ve wanted to do this for a while now so here goes🎬🍿

Movies I’m watching: a thread
1917 || Sam Mendes || 2019

I have no words (well actually I have a lot). The cinematography is nothing short of incredible. If there’s any awards season movie anyone HAS to see, it’s this one, I can’t recommend it enough.
Spies in Disguise || Nick Bruno, Troy Quane || 2019

Okay this movie was SO CUTE
The final fight was absolutely amazing, and Walter is 100% an alternate version of Peter Parker (which I guess makes Lance his Sam Wilson?)
Dolittle || Stephen Gaghan || 2020

F*ck the critics, this movie is fun.
🦜🦒🦍🐕🦚
Coming to America || John Landis || 1988

I love that in the credits every other character is played by Eddie Murphy or Arsenio Hall, that’s some legend sh*t.
Little Women || Greta Gerwig || 2019

In conclusion, Amy is my favorite, I stan Florence Pugh, I have now watched a movie with Timothée Chalamet, and this was a great film.
Jojo Rabbit || Taika Waititi || 2019

Out of all of the awards season movies, not enough people are talking about this one. The entire cast is f*cking brilliant, especially Scarlett Johansson and Taika Waititi.
Sullivan’s Travels || Preston Sturges || 1941

Yeah, yeah she’s a film student, get over it. I’m a sucker for old movies so naturally I enjoyed this one. It’s equal parts funny and serious, not to mention topical (not to go all film student on you)
Fruitvale Station || Ryan Coogler || 2013

This was a really well-made movie, especially given that it’s based on a true story. Plus, I’m always down to watch a good Michael B. Jordan film.
City of God || Fernando Meirelles || 2002

This movie was brutal. That’s it.
Four Good Days || Rodrigo García || 2020

This marks my first premier!! Kunis and Close were both fantastic, the script was not without its issues but still stellar, and I’m really hoping this movie gets picked up by someone.
Promising Young Woman || Emerald Fennell || 2020

This movie is nothing short of phenomenal. Fantastic performances from everyone involved, especially Carey Mulligan. Please, please go see this movie when it comes out, it’s a great one.
Palm Springs || Max Barbakow || 2020

This movie was so adorable. Andy Samberg was literal perfection, although I expect nothing less. It was a funny, feel-good romantic comedy with strong moments of drama.
The Truffle Hunters || Michael Dweck, Gregory Kershaw || 2020

This documentary was so aesthetically pleasing and the hunters with their dogs were so cute I can’t stress that enough, but oh good lord I was about to fall asleep so be prepared...
Some Kind of Heaven || Lance Oppenheim || 2020

What, and I cannot stress this enough, the fuck? Only in Florida, man. Aesthetically interesting for a documentary though.
The Night House || David Bruckner || 2020

The production design and sound design in this movie are phenomenal, and by phenomenal I of course mean terrifying at times. Note to self, never live in a lake house, like, ever.
Nine Days || Edson Oda || 2020

I am so rooting for this one to get picked up. A truly beautiful film unlike one I’ve ever seen before, where the end goal is life. Winston Duke is incredible and shines a light on mental health in a way that more movies should do.
Shirley || Josephine Decker || 2020

Ummmmm...okay?
Ironbark || Dominic Cooke || 2020

GIVE
BENEDICT
CUMBERBATCH
EVERY
OSCAR
(500) Days of Summer || Marc Webb || 2009

Yeah so I watched this movie at like 2:00 am and I’m running on literally zero sleep so all I have to say is that I liked it.
In Bruges || Martin McDonagh || 2008

Colin Farrell was brilliant in this movie, and I probably laughed at it more than I should have but hey, it was funny and I had just pulled an all-nighter gimme a break
Parasite || Bong Joon Ho || 2019

I’ll be honest not my favorite of the Best Picture nominees but still a pretty damn good movie
Marriage Story || Noah Baumbach || 2019

I’m not crying in the school café, I don’t know what you’re talking about
Joker || Todd Phillips || 2019

Joaquin Phoenix definitely deserves the Oscar I’m just sayin it now...
Ford v. Ferrari || James Mangold || 2019

Matt Damon hitting Christian Bale with Wonder Bread. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
The Irishman || Martin Scorsese || 2019

Why the hell is this movie so damn long??
The Royal Tenenbaums || Wes Anderson || 2001

the AESTHETIC🤩
Birds of Prey || Cathy Yan || 2020

The first time I tried to watch this movie the projector broke. So, I stole one of the posters. The second time I tried, I actually got to watch it. The action was fantastic and production design incredible, 10/10.
P.S. I Still Love You || Michael Fimognari || 2020

Two things:
1) The only reason I wanted to watch this is because Jordan Fisher stole my heart in a freaking Dominos commercial
2) The only role Noah Centineo is acceptable in is Peter Kavinsky, it’s just a rule
Memento || Christopher Nolan || 2000

I don’t know what to believe anymore
Onward || Dan Scanlon || 2020

I’m not crying, you are
Batman Begins || Christopher Nolan || 2005

Every time Liam Neeson spoke I pictured Aslan from the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
The Usual Suspects || Bryan Singer || 1995

I knew the twist @hannah_zandi
Rush || Ron Howard || 2013

Hey @hannah_zandi it’s ur man
The Interview || Craig Monahan || 1998

I kinda feel like hacking @hannah_zandi 's Alexa so that it only plays this soundtrack at odd hours of the night
Millennium Actress || Satoshi Kon || 2001

I’m officially a film snob now
The Invisible Man || Leigh Whannell || 2020

Because watching a movie about a man who terrorizes his ex-girlfriend in her house while being stuck in my house is a great idea
Apollo 13 || Ron Howard || 1995

Reason number 1423566432 why I never want to go to space... like, ever
The Social Network || David Fincher || 2010

1. Poor Andrew Garfield
2. Look Joe Mazzello!
3. I can barely handle one Armie Hammer on the screen, how do you expect me to deal with two?
Somewhere || Sofia Coppola || 2010

The best part about this movie is Elle Fanning and the scene of them eating gelato watching Friends in Italian
Emma. || Autumn de Wilde || 2020

My dad referred to Emma and Knightley’s dance as the grinding of the 1800s...
Good Night, and Good Luck || George Clooney || 2005

Only here for film theory and Iron Man 1-era Robert Downey Jr.
Daddy’s Home 2 || Sean Anders || 2017

Can’t wait to turn this into a romantic drama between Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg for production class
Stalker || Andrei Tarkovsky || 1979

I got whiplash going straight from Daddy’s Home 2 to this movie
The Dark Knight || Christopher Nolan || 2008

God I miss Heath Ledger
True Romance || Tony Scott || 1993

This movie is fuckin’ wild. Brad Pitt’s character is high 24/7, Val Kilmer plays an imaginary Elvis in Christian Slater’s head, and I’m like 99% sure now that Gary Oldman is a chameleon. Now who wants to go eat some pie?
Black Swan || Darren Aronofsky || 2010

In the immortal words of @hannah_zandi : “it was aight. Yeah, good. Probably won’t watch it again tho.”
Three Kings || David O. Russell || 1999

I may have cried it’s no big deal
