I have come across a very common type of conversation between pro-life and pro-choice people, and I think it is worth addressing to clear up some misconceptions.

The conversation usually goes like:
> Pro-choice person calls pro-life person a forced-birther, or states they're forcing women to remain pregnant if abortion becomes illegal.
> Pro-life person responds by saying pregnancy, as a natural biological process, logically cannot

be forced to continue. can't be forced, and that abortion forces birth
> Pro-choice person asks if the pro-life person is also against treatment for cancer/diseases, if they take antibiotics, cut their hair/trim their nails, or any other action which interferes with or

stops a natural process.

But that is not the point of pro-life people stating that pregnancy cannot be forced.

We are NOT saying:
> Natural processes should not be interfered with
> Abortion interferes with a natural process
> Therefore, abortion bad

By asking about other procedures which interfere with a natural biological process and if we are ok with them (or saying we should also be opposed to such actions), they are assuming we are stating the second point because we think the first point. This is simply not true.

We are not saying our moral stance on abortion has anything to do with whether pregnancy is natural or not or whether induced abortion interrupts a natural process or not.
In reality, we are merely trying to point out that it is illogical to say that prohibiting abortion

forces birth or forces continued pregnancy. That’s it.
