Slowly these poor refugees thought WB is there natural home n started returningAround 60000 poor Bengali's took shelter in reserved Sundarbans reserved forest at Marichjhapi islandLeft ruled WB govt thought of these poors as burden on state n opposed there settlement
In 1979 left front govt clamped prohibition orders on Marichjhapi islandHuge police force was deployed with large boatsPolice n district administration started economic blockade of island, no food water or other essentials were allowed to enter
Some women who couldn't see the thirsty children dared to go to river shore to fetch waterPolice noticed them, picked them n took to police station where they were gang raped for daysThey were released after some days so that they can narrate the stories n convince
