This week, my firstborn asked me to teach him photoshop, which means we now have a lot of famous paintings with search and rescue vehicles added to them.
I think we can all agree what the Hay Wain needs is a flood rescue team.
And that if @Hastingsrnli had visited Etretat at the same time as Monet, it would have gone down something like this.
Also, the correct asset to tow The Fighting Temeraire is a Severn Class.
Furthermore, @rnliEastbourne are way outside their normal area of operations here.
But if the sea is really just a sea of fog, there’s still help on its way.
It’s like Where’s Wally but with a lifeboat.
There was never any reason to do this, and yet here we are.
SHARKS!
In which the crew of the Barque of Dante narrowly avoid electrocution as a result of static discharge from winchman's hi-line.
A request from @mcelhearn. This is clearly a hazardous situation. A hatch cover with a sail is no substitute for a properly equipped and regularly serviced liferaft.
A request from @bushtick and @Hastings_CRT. Volunteer coastguard teams undertake cliff and shore rescues. Their truck will need a bit of work to get through its next MOT though.
A request from @Heimi_Henderson, because when there's a storm on the sea of Galilee, it's only natural to look for help from above.
Another request from @mcelhearn. Got out of date distress flares? Some HM Coastguard stations have facilities dispose of them, but you may need to make an appointment, so contact them before you turn up with a truckload of unstable explosives.
Thorough cleaning has revealed hitherto unnoticed details in Casper David Friedrich's The Monk and the SAR Unit
A request from @mirabilia7, this is Cy Twombly's Lepanto cycle. With a lifeboat, naturally.
A request from @zenlan, Hockney's "A Bigger Splash" appears to represent a dangerously under-supervised swimming pool, but even when the lifeguards are off duty, there's a public access defibrillator for use in an emergency.
A request from @dougscripts, Washington Crossing the Delaware represents an exceptionally hazardous journey. Cold water kills, and every one of these people should be in drysuits and PFDs, but failing that, their best chance is air cover from the US Coastguard.
In 2011, a print of Gursky's Rhein II sold for £2.7m, but I think we can all agree it's a better picture with something exciting happening.
A request from @andreasheierroe, I can only begin to imagine the skill it takes to pilot a SAR helicopter around the Norwegian coast, even without being shot at from a clearly overloaded rowing boat.
Clean away years of dust and grime, and you can clearly see Mona Lisa's smile is 'cos she's nerding out on SAR vehicles.
A really very large number of you have requested Bruegel's Landscape with the Fall of Icarus. Unfortunately for Icarus, the ship he landed right next to was only a model. Luckily, we was immediately in front of @TenbyRNLI.
A lot of requests for Christina's World, too. I don't think a lifeboat is going to be much help here. Seems more like a job for @airambulancekss.
Unless...
Well this blew up. I don't normally talk about this online, but I volunteer as a crew member for the @RNLI, and we rely on your donations to get the job done safely. If you would like to support the lifesaving work we do, please donate here: http://bit.ly/2TokQMM
