Dreamcatcher Music Video Plotline:

For those of y'all who don't know, Dreamcatcher's music videos have a pretty complicated plotline, so I'm gonna try my best to explain the generally-accepted storyline for these videos.

This is gonna be a long thread, so hang tight ^__^
Disclaimer:

There are multiple interpretations of their music videos, but I'm gonna explain the way I interpreted their music videos.

ALSO, I will be going in "plot" order of the music videos, instead of release order. In other words, I will be starting with "Fly High".
In my opinion, the storyline goes from Fly High, Chase Me, Good Night, You and I, What, Piri, with Breaking Out as a bonus, and Deja Vu is a part of a separate storyline. This also makes sense because Piri's album is "the end of the nightmare". I will talk about nightmare story
Also, this plotline is the "Nightmare" story, meaning that there will be a lot of weird-magicky stuff that would be unexplainable in real life. ^_^
Fly High:
All 7 members live in a boarding-school mansion thing.

The scene at the beginning with JiU and butterflies represents innocence.

Yoohyeon finds a mirror in the garden, and is creeped out by it. She puts a black stone to the mirror which melts and scares her.
Outside the mansion, JiU finds a magical spider. Interested, she captures and keeps it in a bottle inside the mansion.

However, Yoohyeon doesn't like the spider at all, and burns it using a magnifying glass.

This releases the "spider curse" onto all of the members.
This "spider curse" which released the evil infects all of the girls one by one, causing them to turn into "nightmares" themselves.

This explains their creepy behavior increasing over time.

The shaky POV camera represents the curse finding its way to all of the members.
Handong is cursed in the bathtub.
Yoohyeon tries to run away but is cursed in the forest.
Sua and Siyeon take a walk in the forest and are also cursed there. Notice their change in clothes
Dami is cursed while reading a book and spreads the curse to Gahyeon who is asleep.
The only girl yet to be cursed is JiU herself. She saw all of her friends being cursed, and she knew she was going to be cursed eventually. She runs and closes the gate to the mansion so that the evil can not spread, right before finally getting cursed.
At this point, all of the girls are "possessed"/cursed, and trapped to "haunt" the mansion for eternity. Jiu's butterflies burning represents the death of the girl's innocence. They stay in this mansion as evil spirits until the next music video:
Chase Me:
By this point, the girls have been cursed spirits for a while, as symbolized by their all dark clothing.

A nightmare hunter, comes to investigate the mansion which has been abandoned and haunted for years.
Dreamcatcher members, who are nightmares at this point, haunt him and play tricks on him as he investigates.

They play tricks on him, but as soon as he pulls out a camera, they always disappear.

This is because they are nightmares that can enter the dream world.
Because they can do that, they can also mess around with the nightmare hunter while he sleeps because he is in the "dream world" then.

All he has to work off is a photo of the girls before they became cursed, which will be important later.

Sua and Dami play with his nightmare
The photos importance:

In the Dreamcatcher universe, having somebody's photo means that you can connect with them in the dream world if either one is in the dream world. This is not really explained, but it comes back in the You and I MV.

That's also why they avoid the camera
However, this photo is a "copy" and can not be used to capture their spirits (which is his ultimate goal). Therefore, he is looking through the original photo of the girls pre-nightmare.
At the end, he uses an axe to break into room 808, which is an important room for the girls, because he finds all of their pictures there.
It is assumed that he then captures Sua, Gaheyon, Siyeon, and Yoohyeon there, and also steals the "magic black book" in Good Night.
Good Night:
At the start of Good Night, the 4 girls are still trapped in the mirror world, being held captive by the nightmare hunter as he researches them.

However, at the end of Chase Me, the hunter opened the mansion gates, meaning that the other 3 can roam freely.
JiU Handong and Dami take it upon themselves to rescue their friends.
They perform a ritual which allows them to access the mirror world.

Dami then uses this in order to steal the magic book back from the nightmare hunter.
Finally, they use the book to free the 4 trapped members (by burning a specific page), and instead trap the nightmare hunter inside the mirror world, and run away.

For the safety of everybody, Yooyeon then drops the book in the forest so that nobody can use it against them.
You and I:
Still with an urge to "haunt" people, Dreamcatcher set up a photo booth, so that they can use their photos to haunt people.
The spider spirit, still wanting revenge on Yoohyeon for burning it in Fly High, disguises itself as a lady and asks for a photo.

However, the spider reveals its true form, and possesses Yoohyeon.
Yoohyeon's soul gets trapped in the spirit world.

JiU, Yoohyeon's close friend, wants to get her soul back, and with the help of the other 5 members, performs a ritual which allows Jiu to enter the spirit world.
Yoohyeon trapped in spider webs is symbolic of how she is stuck with the spider's curse in the spirit world.

JiU looks for Yoohyeon in the spirit world, but is chased by the spider spirit who doesn't want her to free Yoohyeon.
In the end, JiU can't save her, and the portal to the real world closes, leaving Yoohyeon trapped in the spirit world.

All hope seems lost (for now), and JiU is especially depressed that they couldn't save Yoohyeon (for now ;)).
What:
This song mainly shows the relationship between JiU and Yoohyeon, and how JiU copes with Yoohyeon's "death".

The song's lyrics talk about the "Two Of Us" "Caught in a Dream/Trap"

It also shows that JiU feels alone and sad without Yoohyeon, as shown in umbrella scene.
In fact, all of the girls are feeling lost without their friend, and trap themselves off.

Examples:
Danger Tapes
Closet

Yoohyeon alone and suffering in her room also shows that shes trapped still in the spirit world.

The last picture is JiU longing for Yoohyeon
At last, JiU goes searching for the magic book from Good Night, because it's her last hope of bringing Yoohyeon back.

She finds it.
At the end of the MV, all the "freeing" like Gahyeon running out of the building represent the hope that the book gives everybody. Also, Siyeon going into the "danger" room, representing her moving out of her comfort zone.
At the end, Yoohyeon's room starts going crazy with the wind and the cards, indicating that there is change happening in the spirit world.

At this point between What and Piri, JiU uses the black book in order to let the 6 other members enter the spirit world.
Piri:

The beginning of the MV shows Yoohyeon all alone in the spirit world, because her friends are still searching for her.

The overall meaning of "Piri" (a woodwind instrument) is that Yoohyeon is playing the Piri so that everybody can find each other
^^aka they should follow the sound of the Piri

In the spirit world, everybody has to confront their greatest fears that are presented to them.

Siyeon is lost in a changing maze.
Sua is confronted with dolls.
Gaheyon's telephones represent fear of what others say about you.
Handong's fear is the passage of time (represented by clocks).
Dami is locked in a dark passageway with a door, symbolizing fear of the unknown.
JiU's is complicated, but I think that she is scared of what she can be (???)
However, Yoohyeon uses the Piri to find them (as explained earlier), and comes to the help of all the members who are facing their fears.

For example,
The hand that reaches out to Siyeon
The hand that abducts Gahyeon
The hand that grabs Dami
It seems like she's capturing them, but in reality, she's saving them, and rejoining with them.

At the end of the video, all the girls have reunited, found Yoohyeon, and regained their confidence, as shown by them all holding hands.

However, they are still in the spirit world
Breaking Out:
This is the final MV of the nightmare series. There's not much analyzing to this one, but it's basically saying how the girls are once and for all "Breaking Out" of this nightmare.
The last lyrics of the song are "Breaking out of this nightmare, Bye bye to this nightmare". This indicates that the girls are finally leaving this nightmare, and escaping free with all 7 of them.

They are holding hands and smiling similarly to Piri, at the end of the MV
And that's it folks!

Thank you SO much for reading this (if any of you made it all the way, I'd be really surprised!)

The lore gets really complicated, and I'm sure I'm wrong about a few things so feel free to correct me and stuff.
Stan Dreamcatcher their music is really good!
Update: It's been confirmed that Deja Vu is its own story connected to King's Raid, and Scream is the start of a new storyline.

I'll make a new thread about Scream's storyline after a few comebacks, once that expands a bit (probably won't be for a few years then haha)
