to all you teens out there thinking about colleges/majors/jobs:

please dont just pick what your parents want you to do or what your friends are doing or what you think will just give you a good job. please pick something you& #39;re genuinely interested in and passionate about.
obviously it& #39;s totally fine if you have no idea what you& #39;re interested in right now. but if you have some ideas, dont give up those dreams simply to meet other people& #39;s expectations. what matters in the end is what *you* want.
it doesnt matter what the job market& #39;s like if it& #39;s not a job you love. cuz you& #39;re not going to be very motivated to search for jobs and study on your own and meet people and talk about it and go the extra mile and do all the things you need to do to succeed in today& #39;s world.
if you truly love what you do, you *will* find something. because you know that& #39;s what your dream is. that& #39;s what you want to do. you& #39;ll actually enjoy practicing for interviews and learning about your field and getting better at what you do just for the sheer heck of it.
there& #39;s no such thing as an easy job. every field is competitive and requires work on your part to go the extra mile and stand out.

so take it from me: you& #39;ll be a lot happier putting in that work towards something you love.
i know it can be scary. but we only get one life. you have to live it for yourself.
