While applying this algorithm to another project, we have discovered an error in the algorithm code that may result in primers that do not meet the criteria in this preprint. We believe that the wet-lab data are accurate, but future primers generated may not perform properly.

We have reached out to the journal editors and have asked for a hold on publication of the revised article pending a resolution of this issue.
