gerard discusses his feminine qualities & explains his opposition to the sexist values instilled in society
an earlier version of the & #39;young women& #39; speech in which gerard encourages women to keep fighting against institutions of power that oppress them
gerard often gives a short speech before playing prison where he asks the boys to take their shirts off and swing them above their heads. however, he does not want to use his power to get women to strip & clarifies only the boys.

another version of the prison speech. this time gerard encourages the girls to chant "boys, boys, boys" instead of stripping themselves
gerard is very opposed to the way women are objectified and used by rock stars. while some musicians would laugh at/encourage a young girl flashing them, gerard immediately told her to stop.

in a 2006 rolling stone interview, gerard mentions how he hopes his music inspires acceptance, above all else. he also expresses his frustration regarding heavy discrimination in the punk rock scene.

gerard discusses working with female creators. he explains the importance of having a woman& #39;s perspective written by women. i like that he recognizes their genuine talent instead of revolving the conversation around gender.
