everything we know about the love simon series: a thread

love simon the series takes place a couple years after the movie, and is based on a kid named victor salazar, who has moved to creekwood and reaches out to simon for help as he’s still discovering his sexuality

it’s centered around a latinx family, takes place in the same universe as the movie, is written by the same writers from the movie, and is produced and narrated by nick robinson !

the show was announced in april 2019, casted in august, and started filming at paramount studios at the end of august and finished filming in late december.

as of right now there is no official release date

moving on to the cast & characters

our main family is the salazars: armando, isabel and their kids victor, pilar, and adrian, they’ve all just moved to creekwood

other main characters include felix, mia, lake, benji, and andrew ,, all are victors classmates

michael cimino stars as victor salazar, a sophomore who struggles with his sexual identity as well as the pressures of fitting in at a new school, he eventually reaches out to simon for advice

michael has most notability been known for his role in annabelle comes home

isabella ferreira is pilar salazar, victors younger sister, she’s described to have a teenage angst personality

isabella is most notably known for her role in orange is the new black

mateo fernandez begins his acting debut as adrian salazar, victors little brother, he’s described as “good-natured” and “adorable”

ana ortiz plays isabel salazar, victors mother, who is also struggling to move into a new city and readjust her families lives

ana is most known for her role in ugly betty

james martinez plays armando salazar, victors father described as a “guy’s guy”,, it’s his promotion that causes the family’s move to creekwood

james is most known for his role in one day at a time

anthony turpel plays felix, victors new neighbor and “awkward, lanky” friend

anthony is most recently known for his role in no good nick

rachel naomi hilson is mia, victors “quick-witted”, smart friend

rachel is most known for her role in this is us

fun fact: her role was recast due to the choice to take mia in a “new creative direction”
fun fact her casting was changed due to a call in “creative differences”

bebe wood is lake, mia’s quirky, “social media obsessed” best friend

bebe is previously known for her role in the new normal

george sear is benji, victors charming, “hipster-type” classmate

george is known for his role in the evermoor chronicles

mason gooding is andrew, the popular, cocky, basketball jock stereotype at creekwood high

mason is known for his role in booksmart

it’s unclear whether or not tony hale will be reprising his role as vice principal worth

nick robinson IS returning as simon spier, he’ll be narrating along side victor and is producing the show

it’s been kept under wraps whether or not he’ll be physically appearing on the show (aside from flashbacks)

the rest of the movie cast is not expected to return

it’s been (unformally) announced that the show will come out with in summer 2020

there is a leaked script as well as some behind the scenes pictures that aren’t supposed to be out yet

becky albertalli (author of simon vs) has said to keep these from being spread online

love simon the series is and will be a stan worthy show, we don’t know how much promo disney plus will give to them so please support and STREAM when it comes out !!!
