WHY JIN IS AN UPCOMING GREAT VOCALIST OF THE GENERATION: A THREAD AND VOCAL ANALYSIS

Note: This is unbiased and comes from a Vocal Pedagogy point of view6

Kim Seokjin
Lyric Tenor
G#2-G5-B5
Supported Range:
F3-E4.

Strengths:
Mix
Falsetto
Agility
Pitch
Stamina
Projection
Mix: Jin has the widest belted range in BTS ranging from E4-G5, with his supported range pushing up to F#4 on some occasion his mix is one of the most consistent in the industry being able to belt 5th octave notes with ease, comfort and power that other males cannot achieve.
His sheer brilliance in belting has been proven on more than just one occasion both in the studio and live. His mix is bright and open, although unsupported his mouth placement and forward resonance adds abit of ring to the quality of his notes.
Falsetto: Although his falsetto has much to improve, its sheer quality and opennes is enough for it to be considered a strength. Its bright quality that was carried over from his chest gives it that distinct characteristic
Agility and Pitch: Jin is agile enough to produce staccato's and runs that are pleasing to the audience ears, although not as complex as Jk's its quality and pitch accuracy is notable. Jin has a great ear and is able to consistenly stay on pitch rarely going off key.
Stamina: Jin has the greatest stamina out of all the vocal line being able to belt several A4's and a sustained C5 after (Epiphany). Comparable to the likes of SoHyang, Seokjins vocal stamina is out of this world, being able to sustain high notes for long amounts of time.
Projection: Although having a very short supported range, Seokjin is able to project all throughout his range, excluding his lower spectrum which is usual not used. With his Theater background Seokjin is able to project notes through the shape of his mouth and forward placement.
Weaknesses:
Airiness and Tenseness which causes him to not support most of his upper range. If you notice Seokjin tends to puff a lot of air while singing, this causes the chord closure to not be properly met and his notes to sound breathy.
This is caused by him overcompensating for breath support when reaching upwards to not sound shrill and tight, while his tenseness is cause by his caused by his closed throat and larynx position.
Another noticable mistake in Seokjins tenseness is his posture, he tends to bend over when singing which causes the abdoment to contract and cause the throat instead to compensate for the lack of breath support
Keypoints: Seokjin is a great vocalist in the making, his range and stamina is extraordinary. His fundamentals are there with already a great breath support, mouth shape and placement, his technique can become untouchable.
