The Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) asked a federal court last week to subpoena a dozen banks in New York as part of a potential lawsuit against the Port Fund.

The requested subpoenas could shed light on the activities of high-level lobbyists.
(Squire Patton Boggs, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and Fahmy Hudome International were listed in court documents, along with law firm Crowell & Moring and PR firms Sanglier Media and Tricuro.)
NEW: Port Fund lawyers just revealed in a filing that Neil Bush, the brother of George W. Bush, was paid more than $1 million "to provide services and assist with the Fund's efforts to unfreeze the $496 million by Noor Bank"
Meanwhile, diGenova and Toensing, the firm run by conservative legal duo Joe diGenova and Victoria Toensing, was paid $23,875 for "services and assist with the Fund's efforts to unfreeze the $496 Million held by Noor"
The lawyers also disclosed In Defense of Christians' ( @indefchristians) Sept. 5, 2019 letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin calling for Global Magnitsky sanctions to be levied upon Kuwaiti officials
(That letter was disclosed as part of a discussion of litigation/evidence in the Cayman Islands related to a proceeding on section 22 of the Cayman Islands Exempted Limited Partnership Law)
