Kinda don’t know what to say about this #BoycottCyprus thing because I stand by this girl just like other Cypriots that I know, but what happened to her is unforgivable and horrific and no one deserves to go through what she did.
Our government’s corruption doesn’t reflect Cypriot citizens and what they did shows just how corrupt they are, something we’ve known for a long time. This young woman deserves justice for what they put her through after this horrific event.
The Cypriots living in areas like Ayia Napa rely on tourism as their main income. Most local business are only open for business during the summer for tourists. It’s sad to see how our authorities would do something that could be so detrimental to their people for political ties.
Overall disappointed something like this could happen in my country. People visiting Cyprus don’t deserve to go through anything like this especially while on vacation. Those men deserve to be brought to justice. It just shows how corrupt and patriarchal Cyprus’ government can be
I wish there was a solution where Cypriots wouldn’t be affected by their government’s mistakes and corruption. What happened to this girl is wrong.
British tourists have been such a prominent part of the Cyprus tourism industry, especially for so many local family businesses. We’re very grateful in Cyprus for the business that tourists bring in for us and I wish things like this whole case wouldn’t happen.
Cyprus has a long way to go in regards to resolving all these issues. The Cyprus problem has been an issue for decades, Cypriots from both sides are Cypriots. Stubborn Cypriots and Cypriot government officials need to realize that our country should be united to function better.
And on a final note, Cyprus has issues that are too complicated for non-Cypriots who don’t live in Cyprus to understand. This case has given people a glimpse of the corruption and instability in our system so I hope people will start talking about Cyprus issues like this more now
