Starmer started prosecuting "false allegations", a detterant for survivors to come forward out of fear of prosecution. This resulted in survivors being prosecuted themselves and was against the advice of leading sexual and domestic violence groups

Starmer was head of the department which decided not to prosecute Worboys further, letting down at least 75 survivors. He and the CPS denied he had involvement in the case, but seems suspect given his position and how high profile the case was.
