1. Feedback is almost non-existent in our industry.
The fear that you aren't any good will be constant.
But those that take the time to offer you *helpful,* constructive criticism are saints.

2. The business isn't fair.
People who didn't earn it will sometimes get a job you probably deserve.
People will also get news jobs for reasons that have nothing to do with actual journalism.
Some people 'pay their dues;' others don't.
Unfair. But fact.
Accept it and adapt.

3. Some people will dislike you, no matter how good you are and no matter how hard you work.

Yes, it stings.
But once you learn to be honest with yourself about your work, they matter less.

Stories are about people.
You're rarely as clever as you think.
The best packages have memorable moments and surprises.
Hook the viewer write away.
Active verbs > Passive verbs
