While I have always been a fangirl, the past 10 years have been mostly fandom focused for me. So here is my self-indulgent thread looking back on the last decade of fandom experiences and some of the people I met along the way!

2010 was my introduction to Doctor Who. That really opened the door for me into online fandoms. I joined DeviantArt because of DW, which is how I found out Sherlock fandom. Then it wasn't long before I joined tumblr....(pause to reflect on this poor? choice)

While I was living near Seattle I helped organize the first Sherlock Seattle Con - where I met @Morelenmir, who still continues to be one of the best fandom people I know!

Then in 2012, I polled online friends if I should start watching Merlin or Supernatural. They chose SPN. Looking back, as I have over the last 7 years, I know that discovering the #SPNFamily was a life-changing experience. That was also the year of my first @GISH

2013: I continued to compete in Gish(whes). I co-founded Team Bicycle Touring and we were Runners-Up! I also got to meet Misha that year and give him a birthday present. My first encounter with an SPN cast member - but no pic because my friend with the camera forgot

2014: I had my first convention photo op with @karengillan and she was so sweet! I can still hear her exclaiming "TARDIS!" in her beautiful Scottish accent when she saw my costume.

2015: Major Milestone
I loved to Los Angeles! Something I had dreamed of doing since high school. Still can't believe I've been here nearly half a decade (and fandom related because I planned my move around SPN VegasCon)

That first con was when I met @Lady_MickeyD & @Miss_MickeyD And I don't think I could have gotten any luckier in having two of the best people welcome me into the real-life world of the #SPNFamily

My first SDCC was also in 2015. I went to the first Wayward Cocktails, in my very first cross-play, and got to meet some familiar faces! Still can't believe this is how I looked when I met @janieloves6 but she seems to like me anyway!

2015 hadn't stopped giving yet. I hosted a few SPN watch parties that year and luckily @silentdescant got the invite! We've done so much together I would need several threads! I wouldn't have my stable job without her help or know about Dan and Phil

2016 started out so well! The January @LoudenSwain1 show is still in my Top 5! And afterwards I got to tell Rob how watching him perform brings peace to my soul. A grainy photo, but a beautiful day!

Later in 2016 I found my better half! While doing Gish that year @nicmanz15 and I discovered not only are we Name Twins, but we had so many things in common. I'm so grateful to know her and have someone to share my love of Borja with!

In 2016 I expanded my cosplay to include Coach!Dean and it has since won me two CE Costume Contests! For someone in 2009 who barely even knew what cosplay *was* I had come a long way.

2017 I got to take my dream trip to England where I was photo-bombed by David Tennant!! (Yes-actual David Tennant!) And I spent some time celebrating my Sherlockian roots because I will find opportunities to fangirl wherever I go

England was a stop on the way to Rome and my first JIBCon! There I met my sweet friend Sara from Germany, who helped me so much! Got my first solo Jared op and a toned-down version of my cosplay made the J2 panel amazing! I claim that Jensen smile was because of me!

You can see the moment at 23:25 when Jensen sees me standing in costume at the mic. I still get butterflies thinking of what happened! Thank you @kreespa for filming and posting one of the highlights of my decade!

2018 is when I got to meet @danielhowell & @AmazingPhil in person! I even travelled out of the country to meet them because I'll do anything for the fandoms I love! And I got to experience their 2nd stage show with @silentdescant in LA

I also made my first trip to NYC in 2018 to attend the 100th SPN Con! Not only was the con great but I got to meet @nicmanz15 in person for the first time! She was kind enough to indulge me planning our sightseeing around filming locations for Avengers, Doctor Who, & 30 Rock!

In 2019 I made my first trip to Austin, Texas to visit @TheFamilyBeer brewery. Great friends and great beer! And one of the owners was kind enough to take photos with us. Nice guy! I think he's gonna go places.

I found this sitting outside the bbq joint we chose in Austin and it felt like I had found home!

I got two more non-SPN ops this year with @ChrisEvans amd @TaronEgerton - who are two of the sweetest guys on the planet! When I choose who to admire, I choose well!

Rounding out the year, I took my first trip to the Grand Canyon for my birthday! I got to experience this majestic place with @EarleElaine who I had met at BurCon 2016 and who has become a member of our Gish team and a great friend!

Of course this thread can't capture every moment or every fantastic person I've met along the way. But I hope you all know, even if we didn't meet in person, you have shown me kindness in spades and I wish you all joy and happiness (and fandom dreams) in the decades to come!
