In 2020, I’m pushing myself out of my comfort zone to get better at one thing I’ve always been terrible at - running. I’m making a thread of my mile times to hold myself accountable. Excited to see how far I can progress.

Day 1 is an embarrassing 11:45. 🤣
Day 4 and I’m already down to 10:54, don’t get me wrong I still want to off myself during but it’s starting to get less and less. Endorphins are flowing and I’m starting to *finally* understand why people willingly do this.
Today I ran a mile without stopping to walk for the first time since 2012!!!!!! 2 weeks ago I was stopping to walk 3 times.

10:05 so my time is already down almost 2 minutes 🔥 I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF
Update 1 month in: Ran my best mile time of 9:45 today (exactly 2 minutes of improvement!)

Also started jogging/walking a 2nd mile and my best time so far is 21:22. 🙂 Improving little by little every day!!!

The tricky part now is pushing myself to increase my speed.
No, I did not give up on this. Been steadily grinding and today I hit a sub-9 minute mile. 😃 I wish little 12-year-old Rachel who finished last in gym class could see me now! I never thought my body was capable of this. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️
Newest running update!! Today I ran (jogged) 2 miles without stopping to walk. The second mile was def a slow jog but it still counts. 😂 I know I’m saying this a lot, but THIS...THIS is something I never thought I’d be able to do.

I have the biggest smile right now 😃
Today is another huge milestone day for me!!!! 3 miles straight running/jogging without any pauses or walking. I’m drenched in sweat but very happy. 😃 If I can do it, so can you!!
Haven’t updated this thread in a while...getting my abs cut open slowed me down for a bit 😆

Today was a flood of bad news, so I told myself I was going to run for as long as I could without stopping.

I’m still VERY slow, but this is the longest I’ve ever ran!!!!! YIPPEE!!!
