I have a Bur Oak tree in my backyard which produces some HUGE acorns. I planted 4 of them and this week, I see a sprout. Pretttttty proud of that.
Nine days later, the Bur Oak acorn has grown about four more inches. This is fascinating me.
Today, I moved the 10-inch tall seedling to it's new temporary home. I talked to an arborist and following his advice, will put it in the ground this fall. Yes, I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage. 🙂

Really looking forward to a day when this tree is taller than me.
I replanted the seedling in late fall thinking it would be good to weather a winter. I didnt expect it to be an epic winter here. I surrounded it with insulation and covered it with a bucket. It appears to be thriving.
