thread of artists taeyong has introduced me to ♪(((#^-^)八(^_^*)))♪

honestly this thread is probably just an excuse for me to recommend you some songs (̂ ˃̥̥̥ ˑ̫ ˂̥̥̥ )̂ i hope you like the artists/songs i talk about, and lmk if you know any of them or if you have any questions/comments!!! lets DO THIS!!!

1.) baby goth - pop/hip-hop

taeyong played her song “swimming” (ft. trippie red and lil xan) during vlive in february where he had a yellow hat on and was dancing in the studio alone! it was enough to get me HOOKED! this is a preview of the “swimming” mv~

i really liked the song, so i checked out her others and they’re all SO good. my favorites besides swimming are gleamy and smooth!

2.) galdive - r&b/soul

he played her song “sorbet” during vlive in july and i fell IN LOVE with the song! he seemed to really enjoy the music, i liked seeing how he paid attention to every single note! the way he would add his own adlibs made me really happy (๑•́₋•̩̥̀๑)

theres honestly not that much out there about galdive? ive searched and searched but i barely even know what she looks like! I DID HOWEVER ... find this one article and it has a picture! im not sure if its her though :0 https://mavemagz.com/galdive-single-sorbet.html

her music is so beautiful, i cant express how much i love all her songs. they make me feel like im flying or floating on water (੭ˊ͈ ꒵ˋ͈)੭̸*✧⁺˚ ive probably listened to “blew me” a million times, the song makes me SO HAPPY!!!

3.) jannabi - korean indie rock band

he played their song “land of night” on vlive in may!!! i liked how it sounded like i was in a disney movie ‧⁺◟( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ ·̫ ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ ) so i shazamed it! plus taeyong knew the lyrics and he seemed to love the song so it was inevitable :<

after the live i checked their albums out ... best decision of my life ...

- the name “jannabi” means monkey and they named themselves this because they were all born in the year of the monkey (1992)
- they have five members (one former one)

4.) marteen - r&b and pop

i found out about marteen thanks to ten and taeyongs vlive when they were dancing to his song “we cool” !!!

after that i checked out more of his songs! ive recently started to listen to him on the regular because his recent album “8” WON ME OVER! its genuinely one of my favorite albums of the year <3

5.) roos jonker - dutch jazz singer

i found her songs “soon” and “play the guitar” on his playlist! they’re so soothing and i love the lyrics <3 here are some previews~

- she only has one album at the moment which is “mmmmm”

6.) phony ppl - hip hop, alternative r&b, neo soul

i first heard of them when taeyong played their song “either way” in his vlive in february, and then he played their song “before you get a boyfriend” on vlive again in april!

the song really caught my attention so i checked out more of their music and they’re suuuuuper cool!

- they originate from Brooklyn NY

7.) friday night plans - r&b/soul

i heard their song “plastic love” during taeyongs vlive in february~ after he suggested for us to play music when we’re feeling gloomy, the song has been a go-to !!! i dance to it all the time now! look how cute he looks ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ _ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ )

fun facts:
- they’re a tokyo based band
- singer and songwriter is masumi
- they have a revolving cast of collaborators that usually consist of producer and drummer tepppei
- “plastic love” is a cover! im not sure who the og is, pls lmk!

8.) niki - contemporary r&b and indie folk

i knew of her before and listened to her once in a while, but after he played her song “chilly” during his vlive in february i ended up listening to her more often! listen to what he said :

- shes said before that her goal is to empower other asian or asian american artists!
- she credits her mother for her r&b inspirations

9.) ski mask the slump god - hip hop, trap, trap metal, punk rap, etc.

taeyong played two of his songs during his vlive in april and foot fungus caught my attention :0 also the way he was dancing made me laugh JUST LOOK AT HIM HES SO FUNNY

ive been listening to ski masks album STOKELEY a lot ever since!

i knew of them before but didnt listen to them on the daily, at least not until a couple days ago when my dad was watching an action movie and “dig down” started playing!!! i was SO INTRIGUED! take a listen:

the beginning of the song reeled me in SO QUICK! plus i loooove lyrics <3 i then remembered taeyong saying they were his inspiration, and since i only know a couple songs from them, i was like yo we gotta listen to more!!! best decision of my life ... here are some other favs:
