They literally carved their Masonic beliefs into the earth when they created Washington DC. They laid cornerstones to buildings in Freemason rituals in full dress. Aprons on. And this matters b/c Freemasonry still exists in the same manner today. People change, not the objective.
I'll take it a step further. In Freemasonry, there are different lodges with different objectives and purposes. Take the Prieuré de Sion (Priory of Sion). b/c it's hard to believe anything anyone Holy says or does once you know they're an institution that's (quite possibly) based on a complete lie...and depends on crime as a means of income. The story of Jesus has always been debated in public, but behind closed doors, it's a war.
