Women in Irish #StreetArt - Thread.

I was stuck by the underrepresentation of the voices of women artists in the Irish Street Art documentary last night. So many of the murals in the doc depicted women as their subject matter, yet only 2 women artists were interviewed.
There are so many talented women street artists in Ireland. For instance #MINAW collective is an all women street art collective with 12 members who paint in Ireland and internationally https://www.facebook.com/MinawCollective/
I couldn't believe @KinMx - one of Ireland's most talented street artists wasn't featured https://www.kinmxart.com/
Another incredible Irish street artist @thisisfriz - http://thisisfriz.com/
Practically every hand painted piece of sign writing in Dublin is the work of @signs_of_power - Her work and the stories behind it are incredible http://www.signsofpower.com/
In the documentary, Holly Pereira raised the issue of women in Irish street art. I think RTE missed an opportunity to feature more women artists rather than hearing from the same cis, white guys - Like me
It's not the first time that women in Irish street art have been forgotten by State institutions - In 2017, An Post created a stamp series featuring four male street artists, and the accompanying booklet featured work of 8 other male artists (including me) - Not ONE women artist.
One of my biggest influences are the Guerrilla Girls @GuerrillaGsOT - an anonymous group of feminist, female artists devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. They challenged the system by it calling out. It's time we started calling it out in #StreetArt
