I am currently seeing a lot of confusion about the controversy surrounding this book, and I feel I need to help clear something up.
It was published by an organisation called "transgender trend". They state the existence of said "trend", and openly oppose it.
Most people who I've heard mention this book did not know this. This is not a secret, it is literally in the title of the company. Please know that the anger directed against this book is not inexplicable or unfounded.
I would like you to know that what might seem to you like a strange rage about a very positive, lovely book in itself is a rage against the actual reasons for publishing it, and that if you support trans rights, you should look closer at this.
I would also caution you that the illustrator may not have been made aware of the full implications of this publication, which, as I said, in itself, is a book with a positive message, but a message that excludes trans children, with a stated, clear purpose.
It is only fair to give this information, and as you can probably tell I am EXTREMELY careful about this. This is what I want you to know, because I am seeing a battle fought uninformed, involving people unfairly.
