to help Maduro when the latter was particularly vulnerable in May. But now Maduro and his backers in Havana, #Cuba, are backing ultra left Marxist terrorist organization #FARC in #Colombia and also radical leftists in #Chile who are vandalizing and destroying public property.

Remaining inept to the threat of #Cuba and #Venezuela won't help Latin America in the long run. Already #Mexico has seen/

What Latin American nations like Uruguay, Panama, Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Chile, Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina need to do now: Legalize drugs and divert resources to drug treatment. Follow Portugal's example.

#AMLO @lopezobrador_ will remain in power till 2024. Just over a year into his tenure and #Mexico has already become worse than South Africa in terms of crime. That country will become a failed state soon. More trouble ahead.

Legalizing drugs will not only help Latin Americans/

it'll also cripple an important source of money for the murderous thug regimes of #Venezuela and #Iran (Hezbollah trafficks drugs in the Americas).

Remember: #Syria became an unmitigated disaster in terms of humanitarian and strategic costs and had far reaching consequences.

To highlight a few ways in which #Syria changed the world:
1. Rise of right wing populists worldwide.
2. Normalization of brutal dictators in MENA and elsewhere.
3. Normalization of chemical weapons (and possibly other WMDs) in war.

and that's just scratching the surface.

#Venezuela is already a terrible disaster trailing only #Syria in terms of humanitarian costs. Will allowing the thugs at Caracas and Havana room to operate any further help us in the long run?
