Memory lane. Hospitals had laundry rooms on site . They had sewing rooms on site ( remember being fitted for uniform ) they had there own sterilization for equipment/ surgery instruments on site. They had chefs being trained onsite! They had their own cleaners, libraries,ALL NHS
They had there own dedicated porters ( gold dust) they had there own workshop for repairs. They had their own seminar rooms for courses . Everything I have mentioned went out to the highest bidders! The staff got less pay less rights !The cohesion of staff got splintered đź‘Ž
Hospitals used to be a place of huge local employment . It’s now a place where your first point of stress is not being able to find a car parking space that you have paid ( directly taken from your salary ) ... call me an old fuddy duddy! But it was so much better when all NHS
