all this recent discourse has me wanting to start a thread of images of how pretty and sexy black hair is in its most cloud-like state... meaning when its texture is neither “defined” nor visibly made up of “loose curls” ♡˚✧⁎⁺˳✧༚
this goes for different textures! even textures that have a visible rippling or curl pattern to the hair when wet or gelled can accomplish this fluffy nymph-like look when the hairs are brushed out instead of allowing to clump together. it’s very pretty!🖤
whether it’s stretched out, twisted into an updo, or flying free, this hair texture is beautiful... 🖤

it’s frustrating how the “natural hair movement” has veered so far from the people who started it all. black women are still discriminated against legally for our hair texture!
it’s thanks to black women with thick puffy hair (not “loose curls”) that companies acknowledge girls w/ curly hair textures in everything from their product formulas to their marketing nowadays... & yet most brushes and products still aren’t designed to be used on hair like ours
it’s okay to laugh when our denman brush slips apart or our combs break, acknowledging our situation — where we as a demographic have to essentially reinvent the wheel when it comes to taking care of our hair, due to violent antiblackness — doesn’t mean we think it’s is a joke 💕
your beauty doesn’t depend on whether or not your hair is “defined” or whether you can pull a comb through it, proximity to white standards is not the deciding factor on what is or is not BEAUTIFUL SEXY or HEALTHY! our hair = these things in any texture 🖤
beauty is anything that looks lovely on you!
whether or not you LOVE your hair now (it takes time to heal from trauma and humiliation... to rethink all you’ve been taught growing up... so please go easy on yourself for having doubts 💕) know that it IS pretty...! that’s still a fact whether you’re struggling or not! 💕
