I got a 60-day marketing challenge for my new apparel brand. Trying 60 different marketing tactics. Documenting them here.
Day 1: IG banner images scheduled. Bonus FB post
Day 2: Working on Backlinks based on #seo competitive analysis. Using: https://app.neilpatel.com/en/seo_analyzer/backlinks
Day 4: Pinning new gear to Pinterest. The key is to repin it to bigger group boards if you have access to them.
Day 6: IG post on my personal account with comments across a few hashtags within IG.
Day 7: On page #seo for the Shopify site and blogs
Day 8: New blog within shopify and blog article to match. Side note: multiple "categories" on shopify is a terrible setup in terms of user navigation. https://getsomelabs.com/blogs/lifestyle
Day 9: facebook specific post. Played with content style. Definitely tons to explore there. #fbmarketing
Day 10: running a Pinterest ad for one of the shirts. Ridiculously inexpensive, but curious what impressions will return.
Day 11: Hotjar heatmaps running on product pages now in conjunction with the Pinterest ad campaign. Pinterest campaign notes - 4.1k impressions, 1% CTR, 40 clicks total.
Day 12: taking the learnings from the heat maps to refine the product pages. More traffic incoming and bonus blog post on LinkedIn.
Day 13: reviewed the Pinterest ads learnings and have made some big changes. Overall with very little effort and cost, I'm getting roughly 1.1% conversion on my ads. Will try again.
Day 14: using the data from Pinterest and the heatmaps from hotjar, revamped the product page information layout. Simple things go a long way, like where the buy now button is
Day 15: reworked the home page to follow recent heatmap outputs and then added in the new Get Some Labs monogram
Day 16: hired someone to handle building backlinks to the main site. Will use that as a means to build backlinks throughout the Get Some site.
Day 18: IG story ads. Starting with me personally to test the waters. So far the spend is $5 a day. Should be fun! 🤪
Day 19: reworking social media bios. Work towards constantly improving the conversion points.
Day 20: running IG story ad for new shirts. Kind of fun to make a little image series into a video. Learned a lot.
Day 21: tagging (when appropriate) other large community pages on IG to see if they repost. Don’t abuse this. Will repost with results. Could work on other platforms.
Day 22: trying Byte App with workout related and funny 6 second clips. Definitely very easy to get exposure. Would be a long game
Day 23: Web optimization. I've been doing software engineering for 20+ years. Never forget to experience things the way your customers are. Mobile first yo.
Day 24: Brokered a nice deal for a giveaway follows. Basically, my IG will get more follows from a fairly targeted influencer over a 3 day period.
Day 25: One giveaway turned into another highly engaged one on my own company IG. Had about 50 comments and a reach of roughly 18000
Day 26: broadened the gear - womens clothing is now a part of it. With it came a decent sized email blast. Email marketing will be my new avenue for a bit.
Day 27: take the positive momentum and worked on another partnered giveaway. This one delivered roughly another 1400 followers for our IG and some decent engagement.
Day 28: Setup and delivered a free PDF with 12 weeks of workouts for at home and traveling. Entirely free but can be a great lead developer and great word of mouth generator. Give, give, give.
