When I tell people that a literal Satan or Hell does not exist & explain what they are, they reject the idea. Then they cling to the belief that they follow God so they don& #39;t go to a literal hell.
Why reduce your relationship w/God to that?

A reward for your obedience.
Then they turn round & talk about love of God & God& #39;s love for them.
Where is the love in this idea? There is none to or from God.

Would you not rest much easier knowing that God would not allow a literal being like Satan to exist & prey on you?
Wouldn& #39;t you rather see the goodness of God rather than fear what he may allow to happen to you if you& #39;re "disobedient"?

It& #39;s about knowing how to have a good life & avoiding the things that will hurt you.

The message of Christ has been perverted to enslave you in your own mind. To control you & to keep you in fear.

Do you think the extreme opposition to Jesus & his message stopped when he was crucified or resurrected?
Do you think they never sat down & decided on a strategy to keep it all under wraps?
Jesus came to free you of mental enslavement.

This threatened the very effective control & mental enslavement that religion had people in.

I promise, a literal Satan or Hell do not need to exist for you to know God & for you to love God. They do not need to exist for you to avoid sin & take the teachings of Jesus seriously. You just never had the opportunity to know the truth.
