There's a cultural history to this *among Black people* ANDDDD an *implied disrespect* when it's done unsolicited way from a white person TO a Black woman or femme.
When our grandmothers worked in white kitchens and homes, raising their kids, they were "auntied" without permission or desire.

That's what you're evoking when you auntie a Black woman & you're not one.
At the same time, WITHIN and ACROSS some of our Black communities, it's done with heat respect and at least implied permission.
If in doubt it'sseasy to just ask.

If you don't mean harm, it's so easy to not. Just don't.
