I see a lot of posts along the lines of ‘let the 8 in your life know they can be vulnerable with you’ but I have to say - I can’t think of anything I’d hate more than someone telling me I can be vulnerable with them. Like, it’s for me to decide who I will & wont trust thank you??

I think it just comes off as tragedy-porn-ish. Like someone wants to get off on being the person I’m vulnerable with. It makes me want to confide less.

If you want an 8 to know they’re safe to be vulnerable with you, show up for them. Have their back. Respect their boundaries. Ask them meaningful questions. Never pity them. They will open up naturally over time. They will know when they feel close enough.
