The UK healthcare regulatory system is intended to protect members of the public. I’m sure that many people think it’s effective and some CAM practitioners treat approval as a “badge of honour”. With a few recent examples I’ll show how little protection it provides <thread>
The @prof_standards accredited the Society of Homeopaths even though many of their members offer the truly appalling CEASE therapy which they claim is a “cure” for #Autism. The @GenChiroCouncil allowed a chiropractor to continue to practice after a patient died when undergoing treatment with her.
