that's not to say that it's up for debate — it's very obvious what the show's intent was

...but if that's the case, then why did it stop at just 99%, rather than going for 100%?

to me, people treating things like yuri on ice as the pinnacle of rep (and i would argue that it doesn't even *want* to be rep) are just displaying a lack of imagination over how fiction can treat us better

and you know, i don't blame them for it! because if the extent of your media consumption is stuff like anime, which tends to be more limited in terms of rep, then you're surely going to think that that's it...

so i just... recommend that you read some manga. especially one-shots, which arr usually overlooked

granted i'm more familiar with yuri rather than bl, so i won't be able to point you at specific authors, but i don't doubt that this holds true anyway
