What books did you read and love this past year? I'm having a quiet night, so here's a thread of books that got into my head. Please share yours!

I got totally obsessed with @marthawells1' Murderbot Diaries. A grumpy robot grapples with the human condition and does murders.
Unfollow, by @meganphelps, blew my mind. It's not my usual kind of book (there are no animals or murderbots) but it really made my brain cook, in the best possible way.
Hollow Kingdom by @KiraJaneWrites is a book about animals, but it's really about humanity, all our gross bits and good bits, and grappling with questions about what's worth saving and eulogizing. Plus, small birds that swear so much.
This Is How You Lose The Time War by @tithenai and @maxgladstone is amazing and really hard to describe. It's like walking back and forth between two totally different but equally spectacular rooms in an art gallery. It's sensory overload, plus there's a v good pun about a seal
Wanderers by @ChuckWendig murdered me. I became a ghost. OoooOOOOooooOOOOooo, etc. It's way easier to sneak up on warblers now that I'm non-corporeal.
Because Internet by @GretchenAMcC is just... amazing. I had to keep pausing to absorb it. The best book I've read on language.
Shut Away by @CMckercher. I'm EXTREMELY BIASED because she gave me life, but she also wrote a very good book so she's done 2 cool things. This book is all about her quest to find out what happened to her brother who had Down Syndrome. It's powerful and hard.
For biology, I loved The Vagina Bible by @DrJenGunter, The Field Herping Guide by Pingleton and Holbrook, The Field Guide to Flower Flies of NE North America by many folks, and other books I'm forgetting. I have too many books in my house. I think they're load-bearing now.
