Just learned that there was a difference between God’s plan and God’s will.
God’s plan is like the normal big future things we think of in life. Who you’re going to marry, what job you’re going to have, whether you should do this or that.
God’s will is for us to believe Him, trust Him, and know Him (taken from Chaplain June Price)
So sometimes we can be outside of God’s plan but still within His will. For example, God’s plan was for Israel to not have a king. Israel wanted a king. But God knew His will could still be accessible even if a wrong action was taken.
So too often we (aka me) beat ourselves up when we think we’ve screwed up God’s will in our lives. In reality we just screwed up the plan, God’s will can still be put into action.
Lol p.s. that’s why repentance is so important. It’s acknowledging you failed God’s plan but you’re willing to submit to God’s will.
SO God’s character both 1) gives just consequences for failing the plan and 2) gives grace so you don’t have to have eternal separation from His will
