As we learn about social justice,we need to remember that lived experiences hold precedence over our interpretation of them

This is why we NEED to learn from fat people when it comes to fat justice,BIPOC when it comes to anti-racism&disabled folks when it comes to accessibility
Learn from people who have actually experienced the very real and harmful oppression you say you are against. LISTEN to them. BELIEVE them. FIGHT for them.
If the loudest voices in these discussions are still just the people that have always had power & privilege (white, thin, cisgender, heterosexual, able-bodied), than we are doing ourselves and especially those experiencing institutional oppression a disservice.
How can we think we are growing & changing if we can’t change the dominant narrative represented?

We can bring a new narrative forward. DO the research, CITE your sources, PASS the mic, SUPPORT the empowerment of those more marginalized than yourself.
