A friend pointed out it’s 6 years to the day we got made redundant from our jobs at RBS. A job where we had *such* a great team, honestly such a good mix of people, it didn’t feel like work most of the days. It Felt like the end of the world being told our jobs were no more

I struggled to find work over the next 4 months. Having just bought a house prior to been made redundant i can’t begin to describe the stress of being knocked back from several job interviews time and time again.

Eventually managed to find a job at Tesco Bank, which little did I know would be the start of a new change in direction for my career...

I started off in the web publishing team, managed to get a secondment into a UX design role which was later made permanent. Went on to get my first ever promotion and was working with another great bunch of people
Allhamdulilah, 6 years on from RBS, I have a great job working as a product designer at Wood Mac, surrounded with amazing people. None of it would have happened had I not been made redundant from my job at RBS

I guess the morale of the story is, sometimes when life feels like it’s breaking apart and you hit your lowest point, it may well be the start of a turning point. The start of something so much bigger & better, however you may not realise it til much later down the line

Have faith. For He truly is the best of all planners
