The one thing I wish we could make more of an effort towards is sharing the amazing history of comics, all the way back to the Golden Age. We have some reprints, but it seems to mostly be the mission of boutique publishers, and I think that's sad. 1/
Some of the first comics I read had reprints of classic stories, and even as a kid, I understood those were the foundation, the original stuff. And it's still great fun to read, a lot of it.
It's sad to me that there is such a need to update the past right out of relevance. 2/
I mean, I wish new readers were exposed to Mac Raboy's Captain Marvel, Jr., or the Jack Cole Plastic Man, not only in expensive hardbacks, but in mass market books.3/
I like comics to keep up with the times, sure, but I miss the JLA and the like quite a lot. The universes feel less full without that historic stuff.

What's more fun than the original Wildcat? He's a JOY to write. 4/
I also dig legacy heroes. But the idea of a bunch of feisty codgers who still fight for what's right, that's pretty fun to have in your universe. I love the new 100 page giants, but I would LOVE having one Golden Age reprint in each one. 5/
We are always being taught to write in a way that a reader never HAS to buy another comic, supposedly, but that sense of 'I want to know who these characters are,' created a LOT of lifelong comics fans, including me. 6/
The comic that made me a lifelong fan was a three part JLA/JSA crossover that I found at a garage sale. I became OBSESSED with all these characters I'd never heard of, that I wanted to learn more about. That was my Come to Jesus moment with comics. 7/
I don't blame anyone in particular. But I would love to see that stuff reprinted, and not just the big ticket stuff in spendy editions.

Our history in comics is a proud, amazing one full of brilliant stuff. It should go back more than five years. 8/
That's why every chance I get, I'm putting in Lady Blackhawk, or Wildcat, or Jonah Hex, or any of the other great characters from the past I have bribed or begged an editor to allow. :)

They're great characters, I would love to see them back fully. 9/
