/ This is one of many accounts constantly making fun of patients online where we can see. I sorta get the joke but also think this behavior is terrible. Sure you could say you need to vent about work stuff and that may be true. Sure you can say some patients truly are like this
/ and that may be true. But this and so many other things I see only promote a work environment that sets you up to stereotype and pre judge patients because you THINK you notice something that isn’t actually there. And what’s with the tattoo, pj pants and cigarettes here? So
/ wrong. Don’t put this shit online and don’t constantly make fun of patients if you don’t want to take care of people when they need it most. I’ve seen doctors do this online too. Recently a thread where nurses were making fun of a man in his 30s because his mom was with him
/ in the hospital. What the fuck?! How insensitive. I get that healthcare is stressful and I have seen with my own eyes and heard with my own ears how terrible some patients can be to their doctors and nurses and that isn’t okay and it sucks and I’m sorry it happens. I’m sure
/ compassion fatigue comes easy. But seriously environments like this online does not help the people you are being paid to help. Being a patient is scary and stressful and so many things and certainly I am not at my best when I’m feeling so bad for so long and in the
/ hospital but I do my best and I still deserve good care. Don’t mess yourself up by participating in places geared towards judging and joking about patients because I don’t want that affecting how you treat me when you walk into my hospital room. This is ugly behavior and
/7 it’s sickening how much of it is online and done in public so we can all see what you really think about us. This is a good example of how NOT to use social media when you’re in the healthcare field. One day that patient may be your spouse or your parent or even you.
